Compassion UK would like to extend an invitation to you to attend a very special event on behalf of the people of Haiti. Ambassadors for Compassion, Andy Hawthorne (The Message Trust) and Anthony Delaney (Ivy Manchester), have just returned from a mercy mission to Haiti, delivering 1000kg of emergency medical supplies to the devastated capital Port au Prince and the island of La Gonave. An estimated 200,000 people have been killed by the quake and hundreds of thousands are now in need of the basics of survival: food, water and medical attention. Andy and Anthony are putting on a special concert for Haiti at Manchester Apollo on 4 February 2010. Special guests include: celebrity guest actor Stephen Baldwin (direct from Celebrity Big Brother), LZ7 and Blush will be performing and Andy and Anthony will share their eye-witness stories from their trip. Tickets are just £5 and donations will be taken on the night with the hope of raising thousands of pounds for the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Instant justice' in Arndale Centre court

SHOPLIFTERS should be dealt with on the spot in a special court set up in the Arndale Centre, says Chief Constable Peter Fahy.
Petty criminals would be hauled before magistrates who would hand out fines, community punishments or even jail, says Greater Manchester’s top policeman.
Mr Fahy said ‘radical thinking’ was needed to speed up the way police and courts dealt with prisoners.
